ACC Week 12 picks: Clemson vs. Florida State & 3 more
Clemson will try to bounce back from its first loss of the season on Saturday when it travels to Tallahassee to take on Florida State. We have betting odds and a pick for that marquee matchup as well as three more eagerly anticipated ACC games.
#4 Clemson vs. Florida State
After their last game was an overtime loss on the road at Notre Dame as the No. 1-team in the country, Clemson fans, players, and coaches alike have to be thrilled to finally see their star quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, take back to the field this Saturday. The one group that is presumably not thrilled? Their opponent, the Florida State Seminoles.

3⃣ Mac Jones, Alabama - 71% pic.twitter.com/4J0wyTzq7Y
Alas, the 2-6 Seminoles (2-6 ATS) must now face their fate and a 34-point spread against the conference’s elite. Clemson is 7-1 SU but an equally poor 2-6 ATS, and will likely have plenty of aggression to get out following a bye week after their loss. The Clemson roster is arguably the best in the country despite the loss, and absolutely deserve to be massive favorites in this game.
The Seminoles have shown just a couple flashes of brilliance throughout a season of overwhelming disappointment, and have now resorted to playing underclassmen as head coach Mike Norvell builds for the future. Florida State has played 20 underclassmen with regularity this year, and in their last defeat started four freshmen on the offensive line.
In the last two years with Lawrence at the helm, Clemson has outscored Florida State 104-24. Clemson is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games as a road favorite, and will turn this one into a blowout by halftime.
Pick: Clemson -34
Wake Forest vs. Duke
Wake Forest has found their quarterback. Sam Hartman is a gunslinger and a gamer, and while he was unsuccessful in continuing his torrid scoring pace last week against North Carolina, he’s shown he can move the ball up and down the field and make Power 5 throws.

As 4.5 point favorites against intrastate foe, Duke, Wake Forest is absolutely a more impressive offense to wager on than Duke. Wake is 6-1 ATS on the year and the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these teams.
Pick: Wake Forest -4.5
#21 Liberty vs. North Carolina State
The North Carolina State Wolfpack are feeling good offensively with starting quarterback, Bailey Hockman, scoring 38 against Florida State after putting up 41 against Miami. But Liberty comes to town as short, undefeated underdogs and the Wolfpack better be ready for a team that can score points prolifically.

Liberty quarterback Malik Willis has 15 touchdowns to just one interception and a 67.8% completion percentage. Liberty has former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze leading the way, and they have a style that can keep them in any game.
Pick: Liberty +3.5
Virginia Tech vs. Pittsburgh
In last year’s matchup between these teams, the Hokies won 28-0. They held Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett to just 10 completions and 103 yards, and the entire offense to just eight first downs and 177 yards. It was total domination, and Pittsburgh hasn’t advanced offensively in one year’s time to overcome the scheme and roster issues they faced in this matchup.
The Hokies have more talent than Pittsburgh and will be anxious to get back in the win column following close losses in back-to-back weeks against Liberty and Miami.
Pick: Virginia Tech -3.5
