College Football Picks Week 6: Top 5 Best Bets
An exciting time of the year for college football! The 2024 season featured an epic match up last week, with Alabama narrowly defeating Georgia, and YouBet has identified five games of interest for a six-point teaser play (+400 odds) in Week 6. All lines courtesy of BetMGM, times listed as Eastern.
Bet $100 for $500 payout on five-team teaser (with adjusted lines): Missouri
/Virginia /Indiana /Connecticut /Central FloridaMissouri at Texas A&M (12 p.m.): Missouri
The lone game between ranked teams, #25 Texas A&M is a slight home favorite over ninth-ranked Missouri. Despite being undefeated, Missouri has dropped in the rankings due to a pair of uninspiring efforts, rallying to beat Boston College and Vanderbilt (in overtime) in the fourth quarter. The Tigers remain very talented, and feature more depth than last year’s 11-2 squad, and Missouri had a bye week to correct the ship.
We expect a much-improved performance! After trailing in the fourth quarter last week, Texas A&M edged past an Arkansas team that was arguably flat off a big road win at Auburn. The Aggies have improved defensively this season, but they often can’t take advantage of field position or turnovers due an ineffective passing offense. Conner Weigman wasn’t good early in the season and has been sidelined by injury, and Marcel Reed is too limited at this stage as a passer. Missouri will turn things around in an important road win.
Boston College at Virginia (12 p.m.): Virginia
Well-rested off a bye week, 3-1 Virginia will be in revenge mode after allowing a 14-point lead slip away in a tough loss to Boston College last year. And Boston college appears ripe for a letdown after an emotional come-from-behind win over Western Kentucky last week.
Quarterback Thomas Castellanos was injured in a close win over Michigan St. two week ago, and Boston College isn’t firing on the same offensive cylinders from earlier this season. Virginia exits their best game of the season, handing Coastal Carolina their first loss in a blowout win, and they look poised to carry their momentum forward here.

Indiana at Northwestern (3:30 p.m.): Indiana
Northwestern is averaging 12.6 points in three games versus non-patsy opponents, their offensive woes will be exploited by an improved Indiana defense. The Hoosiers can score points in bunches, overcoming a sluggish performance (four turnovers) versus Maryland to win by two touchdowns, and well-coached Indiana ranks 11th nationally in points per game (41.8). After scoring five points versus Washington last week, Northwestern won’t be able to stay competitive with Indiana.

Temple at Connecticut (3:30 p.m.): Connecticut
Temple got off the schneid with a victory over a limited Utah St. two weeks ago, but the Owls don’t have the defense or offensive firepower to stay with better teams, losing 42-14 to Army at home last week. This is a bad road spot against a Connecticut team thriving, scoring 95 combined points in blowout wins the last two weeks, and we came away impressed by how the Huskies dismantled Buffalo last week (47-3). Head coach Jim Mora has installed a new culture in his third season, and we expect to see Connecticut roll in this spot.
Central Florida at Florida (7:45 p.m.): Central Florida
Florida got their first win over a FBS school last week, but defense remains a major concern, allowing 240 rushing yards and nearly 500 yards of total offense to a woeful Mississippi St. last week. With a winnable game versus a SEC opponent up next, Central Florida showed up flat versus Colorado last week, with four turnovers and bad red-zone defense, but they still easily outgained Colorado in total yards (461-418).
And this will be a favorable match up for a Knights’ dynamic ground game featuring running back RJ Harvey and quarterback KJ Jefferson. Florida has gone to a dual quarterback approach, which will have its limitations, and 3-1 Central Florida will get back on track with a big home win.
