What do odds look like for NCAAB?

Basketball games to bet on can range into the hundreds from week to week throughout the college basketball season, and basketball bettors prefer betting on the point spread.

Example:
University of Kentucky +2.5
Louisville -2.5

For this game example, Louisville would need to win by 3 points, or more, to cover the point spread. If Kentucky won or lost by 2 points, or less, Wildcat college basketball fans would cash their tickets.

What other odds are offered on NCAAB?

The “total” also known as the “over/under,” is the second most common bet. Oddsmakers for sportsbooks create a line for total or combined points by both teams. College basketball bettors can wager whether the final score will be over or under the set total.
There are also moneyline bets, which remove the points spread, but can change the odds on each team.

Example:
Michigan +250
Michigan State -280

A $100 bet on Michigan would return $250 if the Wolverines won straight up. Michigan State bettors would have to invest $280 to win $100, but the Spartans would only have to win the game, and not cover a point spread.

Can I bet on March Madness?

Yes, futures hold a growing interest for sports betting fans. The odds and lines for the first two rounds of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament has become a lucrative opportunity and thus popular weekend among sportsbooks.

During the NCAA tournament, sportsbooks will offer odds on who will win each region and make the Final Four. Often outright winners can be found at great prices due to shock value. Fans can bet on who will win a game outright, the championship, and those odds are generally offered year-round.

Who will be the National Championship Winner?

The height of every college basketball season culminates with March Madness, when 68 teams earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament and fans all across the country try to predict the precise outcome of the postseason competition.

If we look at ESPN’s futures, UCONN is a +450 top pick, with 4 teams sitting in seventh place at +2000; Duke, University of Kentucky, Iowa State, and Auburn. The 2024 popular ranking sources do not match the betting dollar for the public in some cases, it seems. KenPom has Kentucky at 18 and Iowa State at 11, while Duke and Auburn accurately sit within the betting public support. That said, Iowa and Kentucky both have had a lot of mind share this year. Catlin Clark and then the stellar offensive show that is UK have captured added momentum.
