NCAAB Power Rankings: San Diego State remains undefeated
It was a rough week for a few ACC teams in our Power Rankings, as both Louisville and Duke suffered unexpected losses. We have a new face in this week’s top 10, so let’s jump in.
1. Baylor (24-1)
The Bears have set the Big 12 record for consecutive conference victories (23), thanks to their 11-point win over Oklahoma on Tuesday night. Their matchup with Kansas on Saturday will determine the Big 12 regular-season champion, and a victory for Baylor would likely secure the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

2. Gonzaga (26-1)
Rinse and repeat for the Bulldogs, as they took care of Pepperdine with a 12-point road victory on Saturday. Just four games now stand between them and an unbeaten conference season, but the toughest game remains a trip to BYU, a team looking to solidify its NCAA Tournament résumé. Filip Petrusev is averaging 24 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game in his last five games.

3. San Diego State (26-0)
An unbeaten regular season is so close for the Aztecs. They rolled into Boise State last week and rolled out with another win. Malachi Flynn had arguably his best game of the season, with 22 points, six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Their final two games will be tough, with a road trip to Nevada the biggest hurdle.
This week: vs. UNLV
4. Kansas (23-3)
The Jayhawks have lost just once since Dec. 21, and they will get a chance to avenge that loss when they travel to Baylor this weekend. Devon Dotson scored 29 points in a 20-point win over Iowa State on Monday, and Kansas will need him to score more than the nine points he had in the first meeting with Baylor.

5. Dayton (24-2)
The Flyers slipped past a tough VCU team to remain unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play, and they have a two-game lead in the conference with five games left. One of their remaining opponents is Rhode Island, which sits in second place and will host Dayton in the final week of the regular season.
Obi Toppin had his quietest game in months against the Rams the first time around, with only 12 points and five rebounds.
This week: vs. Duquesne
6. Maryland (22-4)
Jalen Smith went crazy in Maryland’s ninth consecutive win, with 22 points and 19 rebounds against Northwestern on Tuesday. The Terps have a two-game lead in the Big Ten, but six of their last seven wins have been by single digits. They cannot afford any slip ups over the final three weeks if they want to hold onto their lead.

7. Florida State (22-4)
A narrow win over Syracuse and a blowout of Pitt, combined with losses by Louisville and Duke, has given Florida State a renewed chance to win the ACC regular-season title. Their game against Louisville on Monday night is critical, but they must first defeat an NC State team that toppled the Blue Devils on Wednesday.
Patrick Williams is on a roll, with 14 points or more in Florida State’s last four victories.

8. Creighton (21-6)
The Bluejays are surging and have put together an impressive résumé, with wins over three top 20 teams in the past three weeks, all on the road. Their latest was a 73-65 victory over Marquette, a game they nearly led from start to finish.
They have two home games against ranked opponents in their final four contests, including a season-ending matchup against Seton Hall that may be a de facto Big East regular-season championship game.
This week: vs. Butler
9. Kentucky (21-5)
The Wildcats may have played their best half of offense against LSU. They went into Baton Rouge and shot better than 75% from the field in the second half and made seven consecutive threes.
They held on to win late, after Ashton Hagans left the game with a slight knock, but Immanuel Quickley took over. He scored 21 points—his seventh straight game with at least 17 points. Barring a slip up in the final weeks, Kentucky has all but locked down the SEC regular-season crown.
This week: vs. Florida
10. Villanova (20-6)
The Wildcats lost three straight to teams currently ranked in the top 25, but have bounced back with three wins and still have a chance to win the tough Big East.
Three of their last five games are on the road, including a game against Xavier, a bubble team who will be desperate to improve its chances of making the NCAA Tournament.
