Jackson has been virtually unstoppable this season
Jackson has been on a tear this season, with 2,677 yards through the air in 13 games. He’s also rushed for 1,017 yards and has combined 35 touchdowns (28 passing, seven ushing). What’s even more impressive is that he currently has a 66.3% completion rate and has only thrown six interceptions. With this ankle-breaking run Lamar Jackson joins Michael Vick as the only QBs in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards.

Russell Wilson is an enormous value at +700
Why not take a shot with Russell Wilson? The Seattle Seahawks quarterback has thrown for 3,422 yards with 26 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He’s completed 66.8% of his passes. Wilson has also rushed for 312 yards and three touchdowns. His Seahawks are fighting hard for the NFC West title. The award is for Most Valuable Player and Jackson has made a strong case. However, where would the Seahawks be without Wilson? Seattle ranks 27th in the league in overall defense, so he doesn’t have a good defense to fall back on. Wilson leads the fifth overall offense in the league, with weapons not many can name.
The Ravens, on the other hand, have the sixth-best defense in the league. If voters give the award for individual play, rather than team accomplishment, it should go to Wilson. It’s understandable why Jackson is the frontrunner, but he shouldn’t be by that wide of a margin.
