Boxing: Joshua vs. Ruiz Jr. Preview

Anthony Joshua will defends his title against Andy Ruiz Jr. in New York, but it won't be the only bout with a title on the line Saturday. Here's a rundown of some key fights tomorrow night.

WBA/WBO/IBF/WBC Women's Lightweight Unification

Katie Taylor 13-0-0 vs. Delfine Persoon 43-1-0

Katie Taylor is undefeated for a reason. She has exceptional speed and power. Her footwork is excellent and she throws her power punches only after setting her feet. Taylor has also beaten a couple of previously undefeated fighters in her last two bouts, Eva Wahlstrom and Rose Valante.

Delfine Persoon doesn't have the hand speed Taylor possesses. Taylor could either knockout Persoon or battle to an easy unanimous victory in this 10-round bout.

WBA Super Middleweight Title

Callum Smith 25-0-0 vs. Hassan N'Dam 37-3-0

This should be one of the more entertaining fights Saturday.

Although Hassan N'Dam always gives it his all, he has a big issue against the champ on Saturday. Hassan gives up close to 4 inches to one of the most feared fighters on the planet. Eighteen of Smith's 25 wins have come via knockout. What makes Smith such a difficult opponent is that he uses his height to his advantage. He's not a fancy fighter, but uses his length to set up basic right crosses and left hooks. He's also not afraid to go the body.

N'Dam's tough enough to hang with Smith. Expect Smith to be patient like he did against George Groves. Smith should either get the knockout or technical knockout around Round 8 or Round 9.

IBF/WBA/WBO Heavyweight Title

Anthony Joshua 22-0-0 vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. 32-1-0

Many believe Anthony Joshua is one of the three best heavyweights in the world, but he has so far stayed away from the other two top heavyweights, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

Andy Ruiz Jr. has extremely quick hands for a heavyweight. He also does something with his hands that many fighters can't do. Most fighters must get into position with their feet to throw punches, but Ruiz can throw no matter where his feet are. He can get the correct angle by putting his hands in position.

Ruiz Jr. might be worth a shot at massive +1025 odds. His lone loss was in 2016 and he is much better now.
