3 reasons the 49ers will win Super Bowl LIV
Although the San Francisco 49ers enter Super Bowl LIV as a small underdog, there is ample reason to believe they can finish the fight and lift the Lombardi Trophy as the 2020 NFL champions.
1) They’ve been the most reliable team in the entire NFL
No one has been as consistently solid as San Francisco and that includes the Baltimore Ravens. The 49ers finished the year 13-3 with their only losses coming by margins of 3, 3, and 7 points. Including the postseason, they have played 18 games and had a chance to win every single one of them. This is a team that shows up to every game. They do not beat themselves. They do not get blown out. A consistently solid and often great team can certainly win the Super Bowl.
Doubt him all you want. Jimmy Garoppolo’s #49ers are 15-3 and one win away from winning it all. That’s their quarterback #SuperBowlLIV pic.twitter.com/GSxJGUJrff

2) Pass D/Pass Rush/Rush Off
Kansas City has a scary pass offense (#2 in DVOA) but San Fran has a suffocating pass defense (#2 in DVOA). The Chiefs are #4 in the league in pass protection but the 49ers have the second highest adjusted sack rate (9.1%!). Lastly, Kansas City struggles to defend the run (29th in rush defense) but San Francisco is 1st in the NFL in rushing yards per game (235.5 per outing—more than 50 yards better than the #2 Baltimore Ravens!). It is clear that when on defense, the 49ers are equipped to challenge the Chiefs strength on strength, and they may be able to exploit Kansas City via the run game when on offense.

3) Sheer talent edge
Sure, Kansas City has some first round draft picks among their ranks—Mahomes and Watkins are studs who are going to get almost all the reps. Eric Fisher will do work at LT and we might see some of Cameron Erving rotating in as a swing tackle. But Morris Claiborne and Darron Lee barely see the field and Terrell Suggs is really getting up there in age. Meanwhile, the 49ers have five first round draft picks on the defensive line alone (Armstead, Bosa, Buckner, Ford, and Thomas)! Then, they pack three more into the starting offensive line (Staley, McGlinchey, Tomlinson). Add Jimmie Ward at safety for good measure and you have the team with more raw talent hands down.
We are in for a most excellent Super Bowl as I do not see either team running away with this one. The 49ers have proven to be a team with staying power that are certainly capable of closing this football season out with a franchise record-tying sixth Super Bowl Championship.
