Congratulations to David Palmer, Youbet.com member and
winner of the National Harness Handicapping Championship, presented

David won the $50,000 Grand Prize by besting 85 players who traveled
to the The Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey to
compete for Harness Handicapper of the Year honors. He finished the
tournament with a $1,692 bankroll (from an original bankroll of
$400), cashing in eight of the 10 contest races.
He qualified for the NHHC Finals in Youbet.com's second online
qualifier on racing from Cal Expo on Saturday, May 10. In Saturday's
Finals, David was in fifth place with one race remaining. His last
play was a $98 win bet on 7-1 shot, Romantic Star, who crossed the
line in unison with 5-1 shot Kennans John. It took the judges nearly
five minutes to sort out the photo finish, which showed Romatic Star
had won by a nose. When the dust settled, the $17.60 win mutuel
added $862 to David's bankroll, which totaled $1,692 - $376 more
than the second place finisher.
In addition to his $50,000 Grand Prize, David will have the chance
to have his handicapping picks published in the Meadowlands program
on major stakes days.
The newly crowed Harness Handicapper of the Year resides in San
Diego, California and has been a Youbet.com member since 2002. |
