Overview
What is My ROI?
My ROI (Return on Investment) is a handicapping and wagering tool that provides
a complete detailed breakdown of your wagering record across a series of filters
and criteria. More than simply a win/loss record, My ROI helps you pinpoint your
most successful betting patterns so you can use that knowledge to track and improve
your profitability.
What does My ROI do
for me?
My ROI provides an overview of your wagering activity, then lets you drill down
to decipher and illustrate your best wagering patterns:
- Review your ROI based on distinct handicapping factors including track, bet type,
race class, race distance, race surface, breed, trainer and jockey/driver.
- See an at-a-glance view of your best bets by track, bet type, horse breed, race
surface, race type, race distance, trainer and jockey driver.
- Best ROI shows you a detailed analysis of your most profitable betting patterns
across multiple categories.
- Summary Detail lets you review the individual wagers factored into the betting algorithms
for the ROI condition displayed.
- Export your wagers to Excel to use in your favorite wagering tool.
What does My ROI display
when first opened?
When My ROI first loads it displays a snapshot view of your betting performance
across eight individual categories including track, bet type, horse breed, race
surface, race type, race distance, trainer, and jockey/driver.
How is ROI calculated?
ROI is calculated as the (Wager Payout - Wager Amount)/Wager Amount and displayed
as a percentage, e.g. a $150 payout resulting from a $100 wager will display as
a 50% ROI – (150-100)/100 = 50%.
What types of questions
can My ROI answer?
My ROI can provide just about everything you ever wanted to know about your betting
history on Youbet.com. Some examples include
- How do I do when I bet on Saratoga or Tampa Bay Downs?
- Are my Trifecta bets profitable?
- How do I do betting on turf races?
- How's my record at the downhill turf course at Santa Anita?
- Do I perform well when betting maiden claiming races?
- What particular trainer and jockey/driver combinations do best for me?
For more detailed results My ROI allows you to run multi-dimensional, filtered queries
across all eight betting profiles. For example:
- What is my ROI when I bet maiden special weight races at Keeneland?
- How do I do on allowance or graded stakes races on the turf at Hollywood Park?
- Do I show a profit betting horses driven by David Miller at the Meadowlands?
What is the default
date range of my wagering data?
My ROI displays the prior six months of wagering activity as the default date range.
Can I change the date
range and run a different query?
You can key in different dates in the date box or select a specific date range after
clicking on the calendar icon. You must then select the "Update Summary" button
to refresh the data.
How far back can I
view my wagering history?
Currently you can retrieve your wagering history dating back to January 1st, 2008.
Coming soon, you'll be able to access your wagering all the way back to January
2005.
How do I view a summary
of my overall wagering history?
The "Show ROI" button displays a summary of your ROI, as well as wagering details
for any of the category filters you may wish to query.
What is displayed
in the summary section once I select "Show ROI"?
By selecting "Show ROI" you will see the following breakdown based on the selections
you've highlighted within each of the categories:
- # of Bets
- Win %
- ROI
- Total Wagered Amount
- Total Payout Amount. Profit/Loss
Please Note: If you do not select any category filters, the "Select All" box is
automatically checked for each category and you will see a summary of your overall
betting history.
Can I drill down
to see actual wagers that I've placed?
Yes. After selecting "Show ROI", click on the "Summary Detail" link to show the
actual wagers that were factored into the betting algorithms for the ROI condition
displayed.
Can I exclude specific
bets from my ROI summary based on the total wager amount?
Yes. You can exclude bets from your ROI summary by entering the dollar values in
the "exclude wagers" field and selecting "Show ROI".
What is the number
of bets displayed in My ROI and how is this different than a wager?
My ROI is designed to show your ROI for an actual bet. For example, a $5 exacta
wager of 4 with 1,2,3 will yield one $15 wager on your Wager Log, but is actually
3 distinct $5 bets. In this example, your ROI summary will show this wager as 3
bets.
Features
Advanced filtering
Advanced filtering lets you run your wagering performance across eight betting factors
and thousands of combinations. By selecting the individual checkboxes, you can highlight
specific criteria in one or across all eight categories (checked categories are
highlighted for ease of reviewing selected filters). Selecting the "Show ROI" button
will then display your summary ROI for the selected filters.
Filter limits by category
For performance considerations, there are certain limits for selecting multiple
combinations within each category.
- Tracks: Limit of 10 tracks may be selected for filtering.
- Bet Types: Limit of 5 bet types may be selected for filtering.
- Race Surfaces: Limit of 4 race surfaces may be selected for filtering.
- Race Types: Limit of 6 race types may be selected for filtering.
- Distances: Limit of 10 distances may be selected for filtering.
- Trainers/Jockeys/Drivers: Limit of 3 trainers and jockeys/drivers may be selected
for filtering.
Please note: The more filters selected across categories, the more detailed the
query will become.
Export function
My ROI allows you to download your wagers to Excel (or any standard spreadsheet)
for your own analysis/record keeping. Simply choose your desired filters and select
the "Export" button to save your ROI summary and wagers as a ".csv" file.
Graphical view
The summary view of My ROI can be displayed graphically by selecting the "Bar Mode"
icon on the top right hand-side of the screen.
Best ROI
Select the "Best ROI" tab and we'll do the heavy lifting for you by displaying a
detailed analysis of your most profitable betting patterns across multiple categories.
